QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of work experience on a farming operation with medium to large sized equipment
- Able to do all day-to-day maintenance and repairs
- Experience with both ag equipment and heavy equipment as the farm has traditional farm equipment, back hoe, mowers, and land leveling equipment
- Equipment operation during busy field times and assisting in the shop during slow times in the field
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
- Strong communication and writing skills in English are a must
- Any experience with rice farming will be a strong plus
JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for an experienced Farm Hand to assist the Irrigator and Shop Supervisor on this California rice farm. Current manager has been on the job for 52 years and closing in on retirement. Wanting to bring in a key individual or individuals looking for a long-term position to start in an entry level position and advance through promotion into a higher-level positions with increased responsibilities over the next few years. The farm has a nice, well equipped farm shop with multiple bays and doors for multiple projects at any given time, cooled and heated for comfort. Most equipment is newer, so more maintenance than anything, major engine or transmission problems will go back to dealer for repair. Need someone experienced with ag equipment and heavy equipment as well as operation of said equipment. Farms equipment is well above average in condition, cleanliness, and kept in working order. Assist Irrigator with projects of pipe installation, weir installs/removal, flooding and draining fields. Great location with good school options for family and work available in town for a spouse. E.O.E while pay will depend upon experience, stability, and references. Hiring will include extensive background checks and follow up with all references.
