JOB DESCRIPTION:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is assisting this Kansas employer searching for an experienced Operations Manager is to ensure the production of high volume, high quality, and cost effective crop production. In addition, this position is to guarantee that all operations/production goals and tasks are completed efficiently and with the effective use of all resources and supplies. This position is responsible for all operations budget items, certifications, safety and strategic planning.

Essential Functions:
Define and plan field operations and crop production tasks and standards. Participate in strategic planning process, as needed. Create a Weekly Work Plan, outlining top 5 projects/tasks on weekly basis and submit Work Plan to GM on time, weekly. Direct supervision of supervisors, and designated employees. Schedule and delegate equipment, supplies and employees to perform field operations and crop production tasks. Train, coach, and evaluate all operations employees. Approve, create, monitor, and implement operations work standards and performance measures. Plan, coordinate, and schedule workers to assist with facilities maintenance in collaboration with OM or GM. Take the lead with all field workers during planting, tillage, spraying and harvesting. Be the contact person and approve all requests for time off. Notify HR Supervisor and GM of approved time off. Assist GM with crop production planning throughout year. Provide input regarding future equipment and employee needs. Coordinate, plan, communicate and problem solve with regard to Grain Storage, Facilities and Equipment, Transportation, Input Purchasing, Production Technology and Crop Sales. Efficiently and effectively implement all operations plans for maximum results. Train and coach employees in equipment use and best practices. Coordinate safety efforts. Oversee employee and equipment safety. Ensure all control systems are in place and implemented to reduce risk and costs. (i.e. Conservis, Team Desk) Monitor facilities and equipment maintenance for readiness and positive public image. Create, write, update and implement field operation and crop production SOP’s along with GM. Communicate with employees through daily interactions and weekly meetings about priorities and performance measures. Responsible for all reports, data entry and documentation in a timely manner. Training employees in the use of GS2, 20/20’s and any other data collection device. Installing or overseeing the proper installation of data collection equipment. Download collected data on a weekly basis. Ensure employees obtain and renew required certification. Provide end of season debrief meetings with designated employees. Provide end of year reports to GM. Identify operations process improvements to increase efficiencies, volumes, and/or quality. Create employee incentive plans and goals with HR Supervisor.
