QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong agronomic background a plus
- Handle routine maintenance and general repairs in a well-equipped heated shop
- Crop protection products knowledge along with application experience a plus
- Knowledge of soils, drainage, fertilizers, chemicals, insects/disease, crop rotation, weed control, crop scouting
- Degree in Agronomy is a plus, or 3+ years of experience will be considered over a degree
- Good attitude along with good communication skills in working as a team or as an individual
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a farm assistant for a progressive farming operation in South Dakota. A degree in Agronomy would be a plus, but is not required, but would like to see some experience and knowledge in soils, drainage, fertilizer, chemical, insect and disease, crop rotation, weed control, crop scouting, etc. The position offers a wide variety of work and tasks throughout the year. Currently building a new heated shop for maintenance and equipment upkeep in the off months will be able to all be inside where it is warm. Looking for an individual that will work as a team or independently from the owner. The farm also has a drain tile business, so any experience, desire, or assistance in this area would be a plus. Great location for family and long-term stability. Pay is based on salary and incentives/bonus for production, performance, and results. Salary will be negotiated and will depend on experience, stability, and references.
