Company is a 500+ mile gravity irrigation water delivery system serving Northwestern Montana Ag growers/producers, only releasing water when it is requested. The Board of Directors offers this CEO/ General Manager a talented and reliable full staff including exceptional office staff, dependable construction staff and experienced ditch riders as well as a business that is operating in the black. - 2- or 4-year degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Water Management or other related degree program
- Minimum 5 years of Water Management experience preferred; Board will consider Senior Water Maintenance experience, Construction or Engineering Management with water experience
- Knowledge of State of Montana Water Law and Water Rights very beneficial
- Professional communication skills for conflict mitigation and to ensure productive interactions with shareholders, government officials, consultants and staff
- Preference to Professional Engineer, State of Montana, License with hydraulics, hydrology, or other relevant specialization
- Practical knowledge/understanding of financial statements such as balance sheets, reports and payroll law
- Earthwork and/or building construction experience with ability to read/interpret engineering spec sheets
- Understanding of basic surveying techniques
- Computer savvy in terms of computer software, computerized spreadsheets, correspondence, and ability to learn and operate SCADA and telemetry sites
- Ability to prepare/administer (or oversee preparation of) environmental permits, legal agreements, and contract documents
- Experience applying for federal, state, and private grants is a plus
- Ability to design and draft plans for basic concrete structures
- Basic understanding of herbicide chemistry/application with ability to obtain an Aquatic Pesticide Commercial Applicator license

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is assisting an Established Water Company located in Montana in finding their next CEO/General Manager to oversee day-to-day operations including direction and oversight of all personnel, finances, water, and operational resources. The successful candidate will have hands-on water management experience, some type of construction or engineering background, a business mindset with strong math aptitude, and the ability to successfully maneuver operationally and politically while maintaining balanced finances and available resources including staff and equipment.

Primary responsibilities to include:
- Oversight of operation and maintenance of irrigation infrastructure
- Planning/Directing maintenance/Capital projects
- Reviewing/Approving all purchase orders/receipts, vendor invoices, payroll and consultant fees
- Administering all personnel matters including hiring, firing, training, wages and benefits, discipline, review and promotions as well as supervising Office Manager and Construction Foreman in the completion of their duties
- Managing/Leading Ditch Riders and Dam Tenders with regard to scheduling and water delivery duties
- Monitoring/recording meteorological data and review watershed conditions for optimization of systems operation
- General correspondence and meetings with shareholders, board members, vendors, and real estate officers as well as public and regulatory officials
