Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. Degree in Agriculture, Agri-Business, Economics, or another related field

- 5 years’ work experience
- Series 3 Certification (obtainable upon hire)
- Proven experience in livestock and/or grain marketing, agricultural consulting or a similar role in the agricultural industry.

- Strong understanding of grain markets, crop and livestock production processes, and risk management strategies.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and trends as it relates to grain and livestock pricing and contracting procedures.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Self-motivation, organization, planning and time management skills.



Job Description:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is representing a market advisory firm who is seeking a Ag Marketing Consultant to meet the growing demand for risk management assistance. The new consultant will be strongly supported by the team of consultants and brokers to help ensure success, including the servicing of existing clients. As an Ag Marketing Consultant, you will work closely with clients in the agricultural industry, offering expert advice, developing marketing plans, and assisting in implementing strategies to maximize clients’ marketing opportunities.

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with farmers and agri-businesses to understand their production goals, market outlook, and risk tolerance.
- Analyze market trends, crop forecasts, global trade patterns, and economic factors influencing grain prices.

- Develop personalized grain or livestock marketing plans and strategies tailored to each client’s unique needs and objectives.
- Advise clients on pricing alternatives, cash and futures contracts by monitoring local basis and reviewing hedging strategies and risk management tools.
- Educate clients on industry best practices, market dynamics, and the utilization of technology in grain marketing.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, fostering trust and delivering exceptional customer service.

A focused and motivated consultant will have a high degree of time and travel flexibility. Having an agricultural background is preferred. Relocation is not required for this position.
