This Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT candidate was raised on a family farm and has worked in agriculture his whole professional career, He has the passion and background to benefit your organization. He has extensive experience growing potatoes, onions, corn, wheat, and other crops including peas and sweet corn. He is proficient at utilizing many precision agriculture practices and technologies that add value to production agriculture and result in high yields and quality. He has proven leadership skills that have resulted in building strong teams and a culture that results in employee satisfaction, safety, and growth. He enjoys building winning crop plans and strategies, has a long history of developing budgets and managing crop inputs to maximize revenue and thrives on increasing efficiency. He is currently Senior Agronomist for over 9,000 acres of irrigated land. He creates and leads the execution of the sustainable multi-year crop rotation plan to maximize revenue of potatoes, onions, sweet corn, grain corn, peas, wheat, and leased land. Performs crop scouting and makes recommendations for fumigation, soil amendments, tillage, seed cutting, planting, crop protection, fertility, irrigation, vine kill, bruise free harvest, storage, grading, and shipping. He supervises and trains crop scouts and agronomists to perform field scouting, soil sampling, precise field boundary mapping, petiole sampling, and crop development measurements. Sets up and equips new laboratory. Oversees and trains quality assurance personnel. Trains and oversees potato harvest, storage, and shipping personnel to ensure the highest quality possible for 12-month supply to dozens of chip, processing, and table stock potato customers. He implements the use of precision technology to increase efficiencies: GIS software, EM scans, elevation maps, grid sampling, liquid and dry VRT applications, aerial imagery, real-time capacitance soil moisture probes, tractor GPS guidance and documentation, storage sensors and controls, and scouting software. Leads and executes farm research of hundreds of plots to evaluate new varieties, chemicals, equipment, and cultural practices then presents findings to peers and executives via multimedia methods and public speaking.
