Farm Production
I was born and raised on a 1500 acre dry land farm. I have a strong farm back ground of which I am very proud. I truly enjoy working with people in the Ag Industry. Upon graduating from the University of Idaho, I operated the family farm with my Father for 7 years. Hay production experience includes field preparation, variety selection, seeding, weed control, fertility (deep band and foliar), soil analysis, tissue analysis, harvest timing/scheduling, mowing/cutting, tedding, raking and baling. He has operated a variety of equipment including 60-200hp front-wheel assist wheel tractors, 300-580hp rubber track type articulated and straight steer, tillage equipment, self-propelled and pull-type swathers, round balers, square balers, light trucks and heavy semi-tractor/trailer combinations. He has good maintenance, fabrication, mechanical and welding skills. Growth opportunities were limited (farm land was not available for expansion) so I decided to enter AgRetail. I have worked with growers from 500 ac to 5000 acres in size. Many of these growers have relied heavily on my input in cropping decisions. I have been a service tech, sales consultant, Agronomist, branch manager, and account manager. I would like very much to manage or assist the manager of a farm or farm/ranch, which, I feel, would allow me to use many of the skills that I have learned over the years to help make the best decisions and maximize farm/ranch ROI and profitability.
