Candidate Description:
This Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT candidate owned a ranch and ran 250 cows, performed general ranch and equipment maintenance, daily care of cattle, feeding, haying and fencing. In 2014 he started as Head cowboy for a large Kansas feedyard and moved up to cattle manager/assistant manager in charge of 6 pen riders for a 50,000 head yard both conventional and natural cattle. The feedyard was 85% high risk cattle and he assisted with processing and revaccinating cattle. He oversaw 2 hospitals, receiving cattle into yard, tracking fat cattle shipping out, posting daily death loss, and ordering and monthly inventory of medicine. He worked with pac program learning procedures for preventive care and surgeries. He is currently Ranch Manager responsible for daily care of 1,400 cows and 300,000 acres, fencing, haying, feeding and general ranch maintenance.
