This Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT candidate has 10 years of experience working full time in the ranching industry. He earned his associate degree in Ranch and Feedlot Operations, a bachelor’s degree in Ag Business - Farm and Ranch Management and is A.I. and Palpation Certified. He has worked on all sizes of ranches from large scale 100,000 acre plus ranches to small less than 10,000-acre ranches and from 300 head herds to 2000 head herds. He has experience in all phases of a cow/calf operation. Knows how to spot sick cattle in the pasture and can doctor horseback. Experienced in calving heifers and cows. He has basic mechanical and welding skills and some experience putting up hay. He has 5 years of experience working in feedyards from 5,000 head to 10,000 head capacity, with 3 years as a Cattle Manager. He is experienced in riding pens, pulling and treating sick cattle, processing, shipping and receiving. He knows how to drive feed truck, read bunks, run a micro machine and clean pens with box scrapers, front end loaders and dump trucks. Working in Nebraska feedyards over the last few years has been very rewarding and has given him the opportunity to learn more about animal health and nutrition. He has worked his way into a supervisory/management role managing a small crew of a few people and he would really like to continue in a supervisory/management role on either a ranch or feedlot.
