This Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT candidate has over 30 years of experience in all aspects of cropland, cow/calf production, purebred bull and heifer development and dairy farm management. He understands the challenges faced in today’s agriculture industry and is ready to contribute his expertise and passion to make a meaningful impact. He is passionate about animal care, proficient in livestock handling, equipment operation and problem solving. He is currently a Ranch Hand/Bull Developer overseeing a 1500-head purebred angus cow herd in Wyoming. - Communicate with livestock nutritionists to make and adjust feed rations. - Operate feed mixing truck, payloader, backhoe, skid loader, tractors, and other types of farm equipment including livestock handling equipment. - Helping with ranch duties, improvements, upkeep of facilities, fencing, equipment maintenance, and irrigation including flood and pivot. - Manage and oversee the health and development of bulls for annual sales, assist with clipping and sale videos. - Use ATVs and UTVs to move cattle. - Handle livestock in calm and low stress manner. - Treat, Vaccinate, tagging, and brand livestock. Assist with any vet work including breeding soundness exams, PAP tests, hoof trimming and AI. - Actively check cattle to ensure they are sound in health, nutrition, and breeding condition. - Assist with planting and harvesting hay and crops as well as silage. - Move cattle to grass and mountain range for grazing. - Prepare and develop bulls for annual bull sale. - Weed control and lawn care. - Played a key role with increasing bull sale averages within 1 year after implanting a new feeding strategy and low
