This Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT candidate grew up around a broad range of farming; including cattle, horses, corn and soybeans. He has always had a strong desire to produce beef cattle whether in a feedlot or calving out in the pasture. He obtained his Master’s in Science Agriculture/Beef Production and gained not only knowledge of current practices but new and progressive ideas in the beef cattle industry. Through his years of experience and education he has gained a passion for the beef industry especially in genetics and breeding. He has owned his own cattle for 16 years and worked at the university farm helping conduct research trials. He worked on a big ranch where they ran about 8000 pairs, he was in charge of 500 head along with a feedlot. He is currently managing a 100 head grass fed operation and 120 head feedlot. He previously worked for 4 years on a 1200-acre grain farm. Wide variety of experience and picks up on new things very easy with a lot of common sense and work ethic.
