Dairy Manager
Candidate Description:
Hector grew up on a dairy, where he helped his dad during high school. After graduating from high school and serving a 2-year mission, Hector became a Dairy Maternity/Dry Cow Manager for a large 10,000 cow dairy. In this role, Hector supervised 8 employees. He was then promoted to the position of Assistant General Manager, where he managed over 30 employees. Later, he accepted the role of Assistant General Manager on another 10,000 cow dairy, where he honed his management and reproduction skills, overseeing 40+ employees in various areas such as the calf ranch, maternity crews, breeder and fresh cows crews, and feeders. For the past 5 years, Hector has managed a 17,000 head heifer operation, supervising 60+ employees. Recently, Hector was asked to take on the position of Dairy Manager, while continuing to manage the heifer operations at a dairy that milks 17,000 cows. In this role, he oversees breeding, cattle movements, vet checks, genetics, and works alongside the Feed Manager, Parlor Manager, and Maintenance Manager, reporting to the General Manager. He has found the Dairy Manager role fulfilling and has implemented significant changes to improve the dairy in a short amount of time. He possesses advanced skills in DHI Plus, Microsoft Word, Excel spreadsheets, and EZ Feed. Hector is fluent in both Spanish and English. Hector and his family are now looking to relocate for the right position where he can make a positive impact. He is currently seeking an upper-level management position and is open to relocation.
