Her responsibilities revolved around ensuring herd health, meeting production targets, and ensuring the implementation of efficient and effective protocols. She possesses extensive knowledge in diagnosing and treating fresh cow illnesses such as milk fever, retained placenta, ketosis, metritis, and calving paralysis, among others. Moreover, Peggy has garnered significant experience in handling various other dairy cow illnesses including pneumonia, mastitis, foot rot, fevers, and infections, and working with and treating non-ambulatory animals.
Additionally, Peggy has played a critical role in overseeing breeding programs for both breeding age heifers and cows. This involved organizing ovsynch schedules and ensuring timely and correct matings. She is adept at breeding cows and possesses a strong background in dairy calf and replacement heifer husbandry. Furthermore, Peggy is proficient in milking cows and working with Hispanics and has obtained certification in "Spanish on Farm 101" from Dairy Girl Network, enabling her to effectively communicate with basic farm Spanish.
