This Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT candidate grew up in a small farming community. He owned a detasseling contract company for many years and saw many mergers and restructuring of seed companies. Since detasseling was seasonal, he worked for an industrial control company that built and installed hazard monitoring equipment in the grain industry for 15 years. He serviced bearings, belts, grain temp and motion equipment as well as process controls at grain facilities across Nebraska and the front range of Colorado. For the last 5 years he has worked for a large farm operation, first as seasonal harvest help and then moved into a full time position. He assisted during planting by handling and transporting seed, fertilizer and chemicals from the storage facility to the correct fields and equipment and operated grain carts during harvest. He sprayed road ditches, waterways and field edges and trimmed trees where needed. He performed general maintenance on equipment, assisted with planter set up and clean out procedures. He is familiar with pivot irrigation systems and gravity flow, operating equipment with auto steer and GPS, grain handling and bin sites and loading and handling of all trailers, tenders and fueling equipment.
