This Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT candidate started his own farming operation with 40 acres as a freshman in high school as an FFA Project and received his State Farmer Degree. He paid his way to Texas A&M from farm proceeds receiving a B.S. in Agronomy. While at Texas A&M he worked in the Soil Characterization Lab, ARS Sorghum Research and Crops & Soil Department as a student assistant. After graduating he returned to farm and expanded his farm to up to 1000 acres of irrigated crops. He ran a custom harvest and transportation operation for over 20 years. He has taught college Farm Management courses. He represents and promotes agricultural producers on local and international associations, boards and commissions, and he has served in leadership positions on his local Rural Fire District.
