Candidate Description:
This Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT candidate grew up on a small farm in eastern Nebraska with cows, horses and hay production. He attended college for 4 years majoring in animal science and is currently working on-line finishing the last couple classes to earn his bachelor’s degree. While in college he had a Purina cattle feed sales internship and an internship in eastern Wyoming on a 500 hd commercial cattle ranch. At college he worked at the University’s Horse Unit serving as a leader/emergency contact as well as a purebred Charolais breeder operation. Since leaving college, he moved to central Nebraska and is working in a large custom cattle feeding operation on the cattle health team. Some of his duties are to ride pens, identify and treat cattle, he also oversees the crew when his supervisor is gone. He creates work orders, schedules processing, runs withdrawal sheets and various other paperwork. Along with the feedlot, he works for one of the feedlot owners cow herd too. With the cow herd he assists with calving, branding, pasture movements, pre-conditioning, weaning, and all other jobs associated with a cow herd. He desires to continue to grow within the cattle industry and move into more of a leadership role.
