Farm

Candidate Description:

This Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT candidate out of North Dakota has been around various types of crop growing situations and strategies. He grew up on a 2500-acre small grain farm, which was a very educational experience to base his knowledge of farming operations. He's looking for something in the row crop foreman/management area. Through the years he has been a part of planting, tillage, spraying, fertilizing, side dressing, combining, trucking, bin storage, grain legs, augers, and grain dryers. He has been solely responsible of all equipment maintenance and upkeep as well as delivering grain timely to various elevators and ethanol plants. His experience with all John Deere auto steers along with using the apex programs to load everything onto the computer will work well with keeping his employer up to date on all operations through the growing season. As for management, he has managed 3 people at one time. He has been in charge of projects and has had to delegate tasks. He was in charge of a 3 man crew, drain tiling crew installing thousands of feet of drain tile on correct grade and depth, which gave him knowledge of ordering inventory, keeping records, and dealing directly with vendors. He is well versed in communication with agronomists, seed salesman and chemical salesman. He is excellent at reading spray maps, conversing and understanding soil samples with an agronomist, and using variable seed/fertilizer maps for flat rate application. He is an experienced welder and metal fabricator, with proper tools there in nothing he cannot make or repair as far as steel goes. He is good with wire and stick welding, oxyacetylene torch, plasma cutter, and a little aluminum welding. He takes pride in catching things before they get serious as far as metal cracks or breaks, or mechanical problems. He has rebuilt grain cart doghouse slides for a livebottom, semi trailer frames, auger flighting, and implement frames. He understands that it is not a daily use skill but can be helpful with breakdowns not having to hire out and save the operation money. This candidate is goal oriented, self-driven, dependable, and a fast hands-on learner. He has a family that he supports, which he believes makes him more driven than others. He looks forward to speaking with you regarding your position and how his presence could positively effect your operation. He's open to relocating to most areas.
