This Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT candidate has worked largely with nursery stock, potatoes and citrus. He has a BS of Plant Science from California State Polytechnic University and MS in Plant and Soil Science from Texas A&M University-Kingsville. He is currently an Agronomist for a large potato farm in south Texas. He manages fresh and processed potato crops from planning stages through harvest. Maintains detailed irrigation, pesticide and cultural for audits. Conducts, analyzes, and communicates research projects to evaluate variety, inputs, etc. Supervises Quality Control packing lines. Communicates quality, yield and volumes to customers to facilitate shipping schedules. His previous position was Nursery Grower at greenhouse with over 100 plant species sold as landscape material. He assessed water, fertility, light, temperature and pesticide needs. Identified pest/pathogens, fertility issues and recommended solutions. Planned, communicated and executed plant growth to meet sales deadlines. He supervised, trained and delegated tasks to a crew of 20+ Spanish-speaking employees daily. He is seeking a position within the fields of agronomy, farm management, research, pest management, logistics and nursery grower/manager.
