This Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT candidate managed a 120,000-acre ranch for an absentee owner. 600 cows on the commercial side plus some registered cows. Number of head later increased to 2,000 head commercial and registered cows. Purchased new hay property which had old ditch irrigation, and improved with four new pivots. Artificially inseminated all first calf heifers, set up insemination of cows and embryo transplant. Oversaw 2,000 head grass feed yearlings during summer. Completely tore apart and rebuilt pens from the ground up, construction of new boundary and cross fence. Built a new calving barn and laid concrete for the addition of a Daniel’s alleyway. Maintained all roads and buildings, electrical work, carpenter work, pipeline for water troughs. Oversaw four units of ranch and eight employees.
