He is a well-rounded individual who has experience and knowledge in many different facets of feedlot and ranch production, while having available consultants as needed. He continues to broaden his horizons by working with nutritionists and veterinarians. He is one to analyze the situation, see the larger picture and take action to turn out a better product in the end. He believes open communication, good working relationships and accurate records are necessary parts of being a manager and is fully capable of leading and growing a team. He is a patient while still striving for perfection. He has had the opportunity to have dealings with many different avenues of people and believes the most important thing is to treat the other person with dignity and respect.
Candidate has experience checking and doctoring year around cattle herd health, calving and artificial insemination. He has managed units with 10,000 head grow yard with feeder cattle, replacement heifers and registered bulls, 1,000-head registered and commercial cow/calf and ranch horse program. He managed feed crews of 3 to 6 employees and ranch hand crews from 4 – 20 full time and part time employees. He has managed pastures, water systems and he has experience with irrigated hay and has a CDL for transporting stock and feed components. Candidate has good mechanical skills and experience in facility upkeep and improvements.
He is a family man, with two school age children. Very clean, positive, who takes pride in what he's doing, hardworking family who are looking for a long-term position where they can continue to raise their children in the ranching lifestyle.
