Farm Manager
Candidate Description:
This Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT candidate has worked for his current employer since 1999. He manages daily operations of a multi-million dollar Ag Business Farm. In his current position, his duties vary daily, but include both managerial duties and self-directed and hands-on work. He works in the field, shop, and office in order to maintain farm productivity, and daily operations. He is responsible for planting 2000 acres of corn, spraying up to 9000 acres and chopping approximately 50,000 ton annually. He has experience reporting and record-keeping to the state Department of Agriculture (ODA) of approximately 25 million gallons of manure. Additionally, as a large-scale farm operation, my duties also include shop maintenance, and repair of farm trucks, tractors and equipment. He manages crops, variety selections and tracks field harvest. Has experience with Operation Center, Apex, Climate and FARMserver. State record-keeping and reporting for the transport and use of liquid fertilizer, pesticides, and manure hauling, distributing and reporting. He works directly with feed and equipment suppliers. Operates and repairs large-scale industrial farm equipment, including planters, sprayers, harvesters, spreaders, tractors, truck and trailer combos as well as construction equipment. He is responsible for training and managing employees in charge of the daily feeding of 2500 head as well as the management of feed sampling, moister testing, ration adjustments and ordering feed and he works directly with nutritionist and feed companies.
