This Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT candidate has worked in various aspects of the cattle industry, from conception to shipping as fats. He has been employed as a cattle doctor and has used many practices on the ranch. He is currently ranch unit manaager for a 5,000-head cattle ranch. He cares for the cattle herd including feeding and supplement management, identifying, diagnosing and treating sick cattle. He is responsible for pasture management including gathering and moving herds, winter feeding, branding, vaccinating, calving, fencing. He operates, maintains and repairs equipment for hauling and stacking hay along with general ranch upkeep. Previously he worked for a large cattle operation first as Assistant Manager for their 10,000-head Feedlot and later he was Foreman for their remote 80,000-acre mountain ranch running to up 1100 cow/calf pairs and 70 herd bulls. Agriculture is the lifestyle he has enjoyed since birth and hopes to find employment as a responsible ranch hand or ranch foreman/manager.
