Scott's professional journey began as a Herdsman for a small Registered Jersey herd of 150 cows. In this role, he took charge of milking, feeding, breeding, and herd health. Over time, his dedication and expertise led to his promotion as the Herd/Farm Manager, where he assumed responsibility for all aspects of the farm's operations, including coordinating crop work with a custom operator. Scott moved on to work with a larger herd of 300 Holsteins. Here, his duties encompassed milking, breeding, herd health management, feeding, and some field work. His experience and skill set continued to expand, preparing him for future opportunities. At his current positon, Scott undertook the role of Herdsman for a 1000 head Holsteins operation. In this capacity, he led and supervised the milking team across three dairies, oversaw breeding activities, provided care for sick cows including milking mastitis cows, conducted preg checks using ultrasound, and meticulously maintained comprehensive records. While Scott enjoyed field work, his passion and proficiency in cow-related responsibilities became increasingly evident.
