Candidate Description:
This candidate grew up assisting with grain and livestock production on his family’s farm where he learned to operate and repair agricultural equipment. He majored in Microbiology and Biology at South Dakota State University and graduated with Bachelor of Science degree. After college he continued to work seasonal part-time jobs for several grain and livestock producers during a fifteen-year period when he worked full-time positions with Monsanto, NordKap Construction and 3M. He gained invaluable experience on the farming and ranching operations he worked on and then in 2014 he returned to full-time Ag employment and wants to continue advancing his career in Agriculture. At his current position he has acquired a sound understanding of large-scale commercial grain and livestock production and has gained additionally from owning and operating a cow-calf business. While occupying these different roles his skill set has become more dynamic allowing him to adapt and succeed in new roles. His current work duties include; operating, maintaining and repairing farm equipment and semi-trucks, assisting with all aspects of beef production, and assisting with all aspects of planting, forage production and harvest.
