This Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT candidate is currently a seed production manager in Idaho. This requires him to contract with growers to grow bean and pea seed for his company, he advises through all stages of the crop production, helps set planters, harvesters and any other equipment that might be needed. He scouts fields and advises on recommendations. He manages an in-house foundation seed operation with 2 employees and the necessary farming equipment. He is responsible for budgets, safety, operational improvements, equipment maintenance/acquisitions. His previous employment held similar responsibilities but with a smaller company and a broader range of crops. He managed 4 direct reports with 4 indirect reports at that company. Before he was in the seed industry he worked for a local row crop farm where they raised sugar beet, corn, wheat, alfalfa and did custom hay harvest.
