Candidate Description:
This Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT candidate grew up on a farm helping his dad with a small cow calf herd. He started working on a dairy farm when he was 12, milking cows after school. He took a full-time position with that same farmer when he graduated high school in 2005. In a quest for more responsibilities, he then went on to manage manure application and crop and forage production on a large dairy farm. He then moved on to a grain farm which has nearly doubled in size from 4500 acres when he started with them to over 8500 acres today and becoming much more diversified and has gone from just raising corn and soybeans, to raising wheat, popcorn, non-gmo corn, organic corn, soybeans and wheat. He had a brief stint in ag equipment sales, while still helping farm with his current employer. Over the years, with his agricultural background, he has developed many skills including mechanical repair, welding, truck driving, equipment operation (bulldozer, excavator, skid loader tractor, combine etc.). He has had years of experience supervising and managing workers and understands what it takes to make a farm operate smoothly and efficiently.
