Ranch Manager / Ranch Foreman
Candidate Description:
This Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT candidate is an experienced Ranch Operations Manager. He has a bachelor’s degree in animal science with a concentration in animal production from Angelo State University. He has simultaneously managed two thriving ranches successfully for the past decade. The ranches cover 5,000 acres in two counties. Works closely with owners to identify and accomplish short term and long-term goals. He collaborates with TPWD and NRCS to develop and implement strong management plans such as criteria for MLD level 3, as well as grazing and brush control strategies. Conduct efficient controlled burns. Utilizes livestock grazing and hunting practices as management tools and effective income sources. Manages habitat along rivers, ponds, springs and caves and is involved in the negotiations of a conservation easements. He is responsible for maintaining all ranch infrastructure and oversee construction of new improvements. Regularly interact with staff to develop and monitor an economically sound budget. He has a proven leadership record with Ranch Foremen due to clear and effective communication. He supervises all aspects of cow/calf program and the production and marketing of hay. He has expertise on irrigation-center pivots, brush control and management, and intensive management of White Tail Deer.
