Job Title: Ranch Assistant
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Self-starter, able to work unsupervised when needed
- Need to be able to communicate well with the owner and co-workers
- Able to take on responsibility when owner is away
- Experience feeding cattle preferred
- Know cows and calves and herd health
- Understand AI and Embryo work, AI experience preferred but not required
- Good cow ranch background
- Prefer good hay production experience
- Assist in shop with equipment maintenance, including general repairs of equipment and facilities and overall ranch
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a well-rounded Ranch Assistant with experience in calving, feeding, animal health, etc. for this South Dakota ranch producer. This person will need to have a good cow ranch background. Person must be a self-starter, who can take on responsibility and run with it. Need to be able to communicate well with the owner and co-workers. Important this person knows hay production, equipment operations and maintenance of equipment and overall maintenance of the overall operation. Really need a person who can handle anything that comes up on the ranch and be able jump in where and when needed. Have a wonderful town with a great school, grocery store, park/pool, and nice community for raising a family. This is a family operation, and need a person who can take on more responsibility. Nice housing in the country is available. Job title doesn't really matter to this employer as they are needing a well-rounded ranch employee who can see the big picture and be able to take on responsibility. Very willing to pay a good income and nice benefits, but it does depend on experience and background.
