Job Title: Lead Field Applicator/Operator

Position Overview

This position serves as a key operational role within a well-established row crop operation and was created to strengthen execution during peak seasons while supporting a long-term transition of responsibilities. The individual in this role will function as the primary applicator, with day-to-day ownership of application workflow once priorities are established. Success in this position requires strong self-management, attention to detail, and the ability to operate independently in a structured but non-corporate environment. This opportunity is best suited for an experienced operator seeking long-term stability, autonomy, and a role where proven capability is trusted and relied upon.

About the Operation

The operation is a family-owned, multi-generation grain farm focused on efficiency, organization, and equipment care. The business places a strong emphasis on written communication, clear expectations, and allowing capable individuals to take ownership of their responsibilities without micromanagement. Equipment is late-model and meticulously maintained, and the operation values consistency, accountability, and long-term commitment.

Primary Responsibilities

- Serve as the lead applicator during spring and in-season application windows
- Manage daily spray execution once field priorities are established
- Coordinate with support personnel involved in mixing and load-out
- Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to application plans
- Maintain high standards of equipment care, cleanliness, and performance
- Work independently for extended periods during peak seasons

Additional Responsibilities

- Support planting operations as needed during peak workloads
- Assist with grain handling, hauling, and storage logistics
- Participate in harvest support activities
- Provide leadership and direction to seasonal or support help when required
- Assist with broader operational needs outside of peak application windows

Note: This is not a management or agronomy decision-making role. Ownership retains responsibility for agronomic planning, purchasing, and overall farm management. This position focuses on execution, leadership in the field, and operational reliability.

Ideal Candidate Profile

- Extensive hands-on experience with field application and modern equipment
- Comfortable operating independently with minimal oversight
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail and follow-through
- Mechanical aptitude and pride in equipment care
- Ability to lead by example and communicate clearly
- Seeking a long-term position rather than a short-term opportunity

Why Consider This Role

This role offers high responsibility without corporate layers, modern equipment without constant oversight, and long-term stability within a well-run family operation. It provides the opportunity to own a critical function of the farm, work in an organized environment with clear expectations, and be valued for experience, reliability, and execution rather than job title.
