Job Title: Feedlot Assistant

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a Feedlot Assistant for a well-established, family-owned cattle operation in Nebraska.

The right individual will be looking for a long-term opportunity and take pride in doing things right. This family operation has been established in the area for over 50 years and is looking for someone who will become a dependable part of the operation.

Up to $78,000 DOE

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist with the day-to-day operation of the feedlot.
  • Feed and monitor cattle daily.
  • Identify, diagnose, and appropriately treat sick cattle.
  • Assist with processing and working cattle.
  • Help load cattle when shipments are scheduled.
  • Operate loaders, skid steers, feed equipment, and other machinery.
  • Assist with wet-corn grinding and feed-related equipment.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and general repairs.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and well-kept feedlot and shop.
  • Be flexible and willing to help wherever needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Solid cattle/feedlot background.
  • Strong animal-health skills with the ability to spot, diagnose, and treat sick cattle.
  • Experience feeding cattle is preferred.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine maintenance and general repairs.
  • Ability to operate loaders, skid steers, and other feedlot equipment.
  • Good work ethic and a positive attitude.
  • Self-starter who can work independently.
  • Takes pride in keeping equipment, facilities, and work areas neat.Good communication skills.
