JOB DESCRIPTION:
Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is seeking a Farm Team Leader for a progressive and well-established Illinois crop production operation. The Farm Team Leader will play a key leadership role in driving high-volume, high-quality, and cost-effective crop production across the operation.
This position ensures all production goals, operational tasks, and seasonal activities are executed efficiently while maximizing labor, equipment, and input resources. The Farm Team Leader will share in the oversight and execution of all day-to-day operations, production data management, and both short- and long-term operational planning.
Responsibilities include assisting with the hiring, training, evaluating, and mentoring of farm employees. This individual will help lead improvement plans, monitor performance reviews, and set goals in collaboration with Management. The Farm Team Leader will review financial statements and performance metrics within assigned areas to measure productivity, track results, identify opportunities for cost reduction, and drive overall improvement. This role will develop, communicate, and oversee all planting and harvesting strategies, including determining equipment needs and ensuring efficient resource allocation throughout each season.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining control systems to reduce risk and cost, managing and reporting all inventories (grain, seed, chemical, fertilizer, and all farm inputs), and collaborating with Input Purchasing and Crop Sales on crop planning and input procurement. The Farm Team Leader will maintain, update, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), lead end-of-season and year-end reviews, and coordinate with the Construction Specialist on farm construction and drainage projects.
