QUALIFICATIONS:

- 5+ years of current horse barn experience, showing good stability

- Maintain stalls, barn facilities, pastures, arenas, etc

- Common sense, work ethic, with knowledge of feeding, nutrition, and animal health skills a plus

- Able to work in a team environment with others

- Must be fluent in English, with the ability to read & write. Have a current driver's license and vehicle for reliable transportation—no Pets on premises

- A Full Background check is required for this position

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a qualified barn assistant for our California Employer. This person will manage all activities related to the barn and equine operation. Looking for an individual who is hardworking and a self-starter. This person needs to be familiar with basic equestrian health and nutrition. Daily horse care and management; feeding, medicating, turnout, cleaning stalls, watering, spotting sickness and lame animals. Work responsibilities will also include cleaning water troughs, washing buckets, raking, cleaning tack, sweeping out stalls and sheds, weed whipping, and general errands for feed and supplement inventories. Will provide communication with owners and trainers in English to ensure proper care for all horses and facilities. A great opportunity for a long-term position for someone with a passion for working with horses. Wages are dependent upon experience & stability of work history. The employer will consider both married and single applicants. Wages will be $25-$30/hour D.0.E.
