Job Title: Crop Scout/Equipment Operator
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4-year Agronomy degree a plus but need at least comparable hands-on in field experience will be considered
- At least 2 years of Midwestern agronomic work in the field
- Good knowledge of Midwestern crops and the pests and weeds affecting those crops
- Ability to make knowledgeable crop inputs recommendations
- Preference for individual from the area or looking to relocate back to this area of the Midwest
- Recent agronomy experience working with Ag chemicals, fertilizer, seed and other specialty agronomy products
- Excellent Ag grower communication skills as well as solid business development skills
- Experience with Precision Ag software such as SMS, Encirca/DuPont Pioneer or other current Ag technology products
- Computer proficiency with ag chem/fertilizer software experience preferred
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is assisting an established Midwestern Crop Production Operation seeking a Crop Scout/Farm Equipment Operator. Ideal candidate will have a 4-year Agronomy degree but need at least 2 years of crop scouting experience and the ability to make knowledgeable decisions with regard to crop inputs including crop protection and fertilizer. This is a progressive Ag farm looking to remain the very best in their area. If you've had recent experience in operations, personnel and have good knowledge/understanding of Precision Ag products and Technology, our client company will want to visit with you!
Primary duties to include:
- Day-to-day management of Agronomy operations
- Training/Developing staff and working with them on programs, goal-setting and overall Agronomy division strategy
- Ongoing communication with Farm Manager and Owner to monitor competitive products and marketing activities
- Sourcing and marketing crop protection, fertilizer, seed and Precision Ag programs in area
- Establishing strategic plans to achieve organization objectives for Agronomy services and products
- Training operations personnel including safety training and government compliance training
- Serving as liaison between Farm Manager and Owner
- Keeping owner up-to-date on current marketing trends and agronomic information
- Contributing positively to entire organization team
