Job Title: Assistant to General Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

- 10+ years of experience in Ag production and agronomy degree is a plus
- Current CCA certification would be a plus
- Ability to work independently, but also focus on working as part of a team, oversee a variety of crops and working with several crop managers across multiple areas
- Need ambition, work ethic, passion & a desire for production agriculture while working various crops that this farm produces, with a focus on specific area
- Strong communications, record keeping skills, with ability to multi task are needed

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is seeking a Assistant Farm Manager for eastern Washington which will be primarily working along side of the the farms General Manager, assisting to oversee crop managers, as the farm has various crops including potatoes, dry beans, peas, corn, sweet corn, wheat, onions, and barley; some of which are also grown for seed production. The same person will work directly with the farm management team to provide data for informed management decisions, including fertility, insecticide/pesticide management, and water application management, as well as collect weekly scouting reports. The ideal person needs previous leadership experience working with a medium to large-sized farm operation, as they come into this leadership role with our farm. This operation has some great mentors who are approaching retirement after many years of excellent work that got the farm where it is today. Your salary will depend on experience, skills, stability, and references when hiring the best person for this position. Salary is open to those with more experience, leadership, or who are currently earning higher wages; we would still like to hear from you. A great location to settle & raise a family, with options for schools and work opportunities in the area for the spouse.
