This position is responsible for the daily breeding of heifers, utilizing a heat detection system to monitor and confirm activity. The Assistant Operations Manager will process new calves at approximately one week of age, ensuring proper identification, health assessments, and accurate record-keeping. Vaccination of calves and heifers is required by age group, along with daily monitoring and treatment of sick animals.
This role supervises a team of three employees in the calf and heifer departments, as well as the parlor and maternity crews, providing clear direction and oversight.
