Job Title: Assistant Farm Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Need to have 10+ years of Production Ag Experience; Preference towards Forage experience
- Solid communication skills with both the Farm Manager and the workers, with respect towards the job they do and the needs to be done.
- Ability to build and work as a team while supervising daily farm operations.
- Strong agronomy experience is needed for weed, water, and insect management, and assisting with soil fertility.
- Experience working with corn silage, alfalfa, and possibly other forage crops in addition to Hay located a bit further out from home base.
- Experience in pivot irrigation, Gravity, and other Irrigation means.
- Experience with dairy manure management and application would be a plus.
- Mechanical skills, welding, and fabrication are a plus, and must have the capability to maintain service schedules for general equipment maintenance and equipment set up for field prep.


JOB DESCRIPTION:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is in search of a strong Assistant Farm Manager who will assist in oversight of forage operations for a dairy operation in beautiful Idaho. Crops consist of 7500+ acres of irrigated alfalfa haylage and corn silage chopped for the dairy operation. This person will be responsible for overseeing 25+ individuals at peak times to get the crop in. Will assist the Farm Manager with oversight of planting, irrigation, chopping, putting up hay, as well as manure management and application over fields as needed. Keep complete records of field operations as well as scouting reports through the season.
