Qualifications:

- Education - Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university/college; concentration in Agricultural Business and/or Animal Science preferred.
- Language Skills – The ability to read, write and comprehend the English language.
- Math Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Physical Demands – Must be met by an employee to successfully perform job. Required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Frequent need to talk, hear, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Work Environment – While working in this job, the employee is sometimes exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions – such as heat and cold. The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times.
- Additional Skills
- Knowledge of dairy nutrition and general dairy farm management, agronomy and general field crop management a plus.

- Knowledge of feed manufacturing operation a plus.
- Understanding of pertinent industry standards, statutes, regulations and reporting requirements.
- Experience in all aspects of small business management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Powerpoint.

Job Descriptions:

Hansen Agri_PLACEMENT is assisting an Ag Business in search for a Senior Vice President. The Senior Vice President (SVP) is responsible for the profitability of the Feed Division. The SVP has supervision of all employees and daily operations in the business office and salesforce and will work closely with the Division President and VP of Sales and Marketing (VP) to ensure customers are being served effectively and profitably.

Responsibilities:

- Responsible for the Feed Division’s profitability by developing overall, as well as customer specific, sales and marketing strategies that are designed to increase volume (tons of feed) of sales of products at the highest profit margins, while producing to high quality standards utilizing existing equipment and capabilities.
- Responsible for establishing and achieving sales budgets through collaboration with the Divisional President, VP and others, as necessary.
- Establishes overall sales goals for the Feed Division salesforce and provides support to drive performance. Collaborates with VP to plan and conduct essential training for salesforce participates in sales meetings to ensure all team members have a good awareness of any issues, as well as opportunities that might impact their performance.
- Oversees sales reporting/analyses; drives business process improvement through streamlined processes and automation. Develops, manages and reports KPIs.
- Plays a lead role in gathering relevant information (production capabilities, costs, any special equipment needed, storage and delivery requirements, etc.) to determine if the feed mill will quote on new business opportunities.
- Responsible for working with the VP to design a salesforce compensation plan that is easily understood and which serves as a major incentive for sales team members to perform desired tasks and produce the most highly desired sales.
- Represents the company at various trade shows, through participation in trade associations and in other public venues as requested.
- Oversees development of promotional materials and advertising required to support the sales effort.
- Member of the Feed Division’s Strategic Planning Team; maintains a high level of awareness about emerging markets and market shifts, the competitive environment, and provides input regarding new products that are within the feed mill’s production capabilities.
- Perform any other duties as assigned in such a way as to perpetuate the success and profitability of the feed mill operations.
