Job Description:
Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is representing a large dairy operation located in Saudi Arabia who is searching for a Dairy Manager. Responsibilities for this position are to manage biological assets including milking, feeding, cleaning, cattle, and animal health operations through providing technical support to section heads. Also, ensure the highest quality and quantity targets for milk production as well as enhance and direct subordinates to develop cost-effective, state-of-the-art techniques in their specialization to manage budgets. Develop teams to be self-sustainable and have a clear succession plan in place. Keep up with the latest developments in large herd management and implement applicable technologies.
DUTIES, AUTHORITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES (Please note that this list is not to be regarded as inclusive).
- Develop and evaluate the department’s work plans by monitoring work flow as well as communicating, reviewing and evaluating work methods and procedures to serve the department’s goals and plans.
- Lead and manage the department’s work plan by providing direction and assigning work activities, projects and programs and by ensuring these are carried out in compliance with company rules, policies or instructions and that technical decisions are followed and applied.
- Manage the overall biological aspects of the farm by ensuring activities pertaining to milking, feeding, cleaning, cattle rearing and animal health follow the industry’s best practices and standards.
- Direct the achievement of quality and quantity targets on milk production by ensuring operational efficiency through competent staff and streamlined work processes.
- Coordinate the operations of departments and special processes. Provide direction to subordinates to one or more of the aforementioned activities. Serving as professional staff support to the Executive General Manager or Managing Director.
- Monitor the costing system of the department.
- Monitor the sections' budgets for accountability within expenditure transactions. Oversee the preparation, review, and decision-making processes for contract Request for Proposal.
- Develop people, set their performance targets and objectives, conduct their progress reviews, and appraise their performance based on actual achievement against targets to drive engagement in contributing to the overall business objectives.
- Carry out other managerial duties such as but not limited to conducting staff meetings, preparing periodic reports, proposing for plans and programs that will boost the operational and fiscal effectiveness of the department.
