This Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT candidate has a great background in Agronomy and Production Agriculture. He received his AAS degree in Feed and Fertilizer Marketing and then went on to Iowa State University to earn his BS in Agricultural Studies with a focus on crop production and agronomy. He had several internships in retail agriculture and learned about grain and agronomy while attending college classes. Following college, he worked as an Agronomy Specialist making recommendations to farmers, performed soil sampling and some custom application of fertilizers and crop protection products. He used computer programs to capture and analyze data to better help customers understand their farms information and ways to save them money and be more profitable. He quickly realized he wanted to work on a farm in production Ag. He is currently working for a 3,000-acre father and son farm operation both of whom have off-farm, full-time jobs, so he assists with all field work, planting, harvesting and hauling grain to keep thing moving while they are at work. He was previously the Assistant Farm Manager at an 8,000-acre farm in Illinois where he helped manage the day-to-day operations of the farm. He managed planting and harvesting crew, used John Deere’s Operations Center software to analyze data and set up profile files to be sent to equipment, installed drain tile and constructed soil conservation structures, and complete maintenance and repairs of equipment. He has a Class A CDL with tanker endorsement and has operated semis to transport grain from field to bins and bins to grain terminals. He is a hard worker and very dependable. He is good at working on his own or in a team. He is a fast learner and is not afraid to ask questions if he doesn’t understand. He takes pride in his work and takes responsibility for his actions.
