Candidate Description:
This Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT candidate has over 20 years of farming experience. He grew up on a 5000-acre family farm and working summers on all the neighbors’ farms and grew up doing this until he graduated high school. After high school he went to a tech school to be a lineman and after a short stint of being a lineman, he started a custom farming and excavation business. He ran both businesses until the economy went south and forced him to close doors. At this time another door opened up where he began to manage a 25,000-acre farm in Idaho for a large pacific northwest company. He's been with this farm since 2012 where he is managing all the company’s Idaho farms and where they farm 10's of thousands of acres of hay, timothy, corn, potatoes, sugar beets, edible beans, quinoa and wheat. He oversees multiple Farm Managers and all their employees and watches expenses made by each farm. He is responsible for water management on all farms, organizes all equipment and trucking and helps with fertility on all farms. He organizes planting and harvesting schedules, works with all the processors and makes sure all tillage and harvest equipment is set correctly. He manages over 20 storage sites on a daily basis.
