Candidate Description:
This Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT candidate is looking for a long-term management position in a swine production. He has over 25 years of hands-on experience in the swine industry and is qualified in every area of a hog farm, from breed to finish. He was Sow Barn Manager for his last employer, responsible for the everyday management and the lead breeder of a 1000 sow barn, breed to wean unit. He supervised 4 employees, ordered semen, kept the owner appraised of the barn operations, trained employees to breed and farrow. He was responsible for maintaining a bio-secure barn, coordinated farm management with their vet and took directions from him as well. He had great breed to wean numbers, as well as a good overall barn environment. He ran equipment including the manure spreader, the bobcat and a few of the tractors on the farm. He has good maintenance skills, fixes feed lines, and mixes up feed rations. He is more of a hands-on person and a jack of all trades. He has years of animal husbandry skills, knowledge of vaccinations and antibiotics with a teachable attitude. He understands how to foster piglets to give them the best advantage on the sows. He has experience and knows what is needed to run a breeding/farrowing barn, a nursery and finisher barn.
